An Honorary Oscar should go to actress Maureen O'Hara. I, along with other classic movie fans, would like to see her get a long deserved tribute by the governors of the Academy. AFRICAN QUEEN SET FOR DVD IN MARCH.

John Huston's 1951 masterpiece is going to be released to DVD on March 23 2010. For anyone who is either a John Huston, Kate Hepburn, or a fan of the great Humphrey Bogart, this is a major release [and yes its not a Warner Brothers release LOL]. I plan to just get a regular vanilla edition of the film. I'm planning on screening this with beer and burgers [or sandwiches] and watch this masterpiece for the first time in years. :) African Queen DVD.

OVER 1 TRILLION AND STILL GOING.

I found on Google's blog the numbers I was looking for. How many unique web pages it has indexed. There are over one trillion with a t. You read that right!! Wow!!! Finding to find anything useful has been Google's [and some others less successfully] mission from the start. They get good marks but they still have a long journey ahead of them to truly make the web the tool I think it can be.

The goal still is to be able to find just what you are looking for when you want it and to have the web help you by crawling and delivering sites automatically even without you going and searching for them at all. Think of it as a your own personal online research assistant. Don't laugh because it may be just around the corner. Story is located here.

INTERNET CAUSES DEPRESSION?!

This is what was posted at Slashdot. The story is so funny that I just have to post my reaction. The media is always trying to blame society's problems on the internet. Give it a rest would you please! Just because people are not glued to the idiot box AKA Television like they used to does not mean you have to go on the attack against the net.

I'll let a Slashdot poster say it for you and I in such simple terms even a journalist [LOL] could understand it: "How about: Awareness of the world makes people more depressed."

Sick and depressing world = sick and depressed people. DUH!!!

I've been visiting the image posting site 4Chan lately. Controversy lead me to it. It seems some internet service providers have blocked the site because of porn I guess, yet there are so many type of images at 4Chan posted 24 hours a day by people from across the globe. Think about that tonight. No matter who wins history is going to be made.

OBAMA'S GRANDMOTHER HAS PASSED AWAY. SHE WILL BE MISSED.

PLANS FOR ELECTION NIGHT.

My plan for election night:

My election night begins with news gathering etc online at 3 PM. 6 PM its TV news and online monitoring. 8:00 PM Eastern - IT GETS BUSY with me being online and watching tv from 2 different rooms. TV will be loud so I can hear something and run in and watch itf I want. I only have a desktop and a big tv so I cannot combine into one room.

At least 5 different TABS in Firefox browser for electoral maps, vote numbers, DU discussion, poll closing times, Google, + my own blog I'll be posting to, and anything else I find.

Another Firefox browser will be open with Board Of Elections / Sec Of State web sites for at least 7 battleground states for the latest returns.

I'm going to be busy for hours and hours. LOL.

HUGE BLACK VOTER URNOUT EXPECTED IN GEORGIA.

Black voter turnout is expected to be 35% this year in Ga. Normally its around 23%. This could boost Obama's chances in the Peach state on election night. I've been seeing massive lines of African American voters on the newscasts here in Georgia. That bodes well for Obama on November 4th.

ALIENS TO INVADE MY SPACE FOR HALLOWEEN NIGHT.

I have the Alien Quadrilogy on DVD. I purchased it a few months ago. I'm going to be listening to the commentary tracks for at least the first two Alien films. These Sci-Fi masterpieces are in great shape in this set and the sound is very pleasing. The DVDs.

Peanut Butter M&Ms and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups will be my treats of choice. Mmm.
