IT ALL JUST SUCKS!!!

I have had the wierdest and most frustrating Christmas in my whole life. It all started with a trip to StarBucks. Keep in mind that I do not usually drink coffee. It was Christmas eve and I was tired. A little caffene never hurts. My sister needed to get a book at the Barnes & Noble that is attached to said coffee place. I order a "mocha cappachino Grande". Big mistake!!! I was informed about half milk or whpped somthing somthing somthing. She said it in that "I'm so much more hip & Sophisticated than you" kind of way. Whats worse than that you might be wondering? Well what if I were to tell you that the customer next to me agreed and singled me out for riddicule.

Wait it gets even better! My sister [who used to work in a coffee shop] arrives from her book buying adventure. We are waiting for my "MOTHER FUCKING MOCHA CAPPACHINO FUCKING GRANDE" when I have to listen to the rude customer and a guy behind the counter be kissy kissy and flirt with each other [puts finger down throat to throw up]. My sister in law might have a thyroid condition, my stepmom's mother [My step grandmother?! WTF?!] is getting short of breath all the time, and......................wait for it.........................wait......................not yet.......................................allmost............................................MY SISTER IS GETTING MARRIED IN OCTOBER 2006!!!!!!.....................WTF?????!!!!!!!!..........................................................................

GREAT X-MAS MUSIC I FOUND.

I went to the Soma FM website and they have a special station with holiday tunes that are truly different. I'm liking it so far. Enjoy the music. I normally listen to to Groove Salad and Drone Zone. Check those out also. You won't be dissapointed.

I'M FEELING BETTER. KIND OF.

Being allowed to have Monday off from my job was a great thing. It is allowing me to unwind and get things done. After a long weekend I get to sit here at my pc and make a blog entry. I'm listening to a podcast on podcast.net and eating a cheap store bought burrito. Mmmmm. Tasty. :) I work Tuesday night and then I'm off for the next 2 days. Wee!!! :) My voice is getting better. Also I have sent off a bill for my mortgage. I feel better today for some reason. I guess its all of the above.

CHEERING THE CLEARING.

Thats right right everyone. My check I was waiting to clear has cleared my account. That big bill has been paid. I'm so releaved about it. I am calm again.

BANKING ON IT. CHA CHING.

I got my overtime check from my work and its my biggest one at the resturant in my 3+ years of working there. I am going to the bank this morning to put it in. :) I earned every penny I can tell you that. LOL. Cha Ching!

INSOMNIA MAN AWAKES.

I can't sleep. Worry over the big check I wrote on the 23rd not clearing yet and my lack of progress in getting much done in my life at the moment. Maybe thats it. Also big changes are coming and I have to be prepared for them. I hate change and yet it seems to be happening faster lately. It can make one a little parinoid and anxious. I have had about 3 1/2 hours worth of good sleep tonight. I was to be up at 8:30 to cut my lawn, but thats not going to happen. I just can't bring myself to do it. I will clean out my car when I get to work [I have some sort of event at my job]. I will have at least done somthing. The post before this one will explain things also. I want Febuary 25th or so to get here. Can't happen soon enough.

HERE AND THERE AND BEYOND.

Part of me is back in 2004 trying to get my mind around all the events that occoured in that fateful year for me. Part of me is in the present handling a busy work load, a huge bill, and the holidays all at once. Still a third part of me is in the not so distant future with my tax troubles at an end and with great possabilities ahead. All this is weighing heavily on me right now. My voice is all but gone. Its been replaced with something that sounds like a cross between a Speak & Spell and Jarr Jarr Binks. A less stable mind than mine would have snapped under such a strain. Not me boy!!! I just sound like a $%&#%@# retard!!!! :( I guess its all for the best. I hope. :( Heres to 2006. Let it be at least be a bit better than this lousy rotten year. 2005 sucked! :(

Wifi Hotspots.

A link to all the Wi-fi hotspots in Alpharetta Georgia. Here is the link. WI-FI ALPH GA.

MY DSL IS NOW 6.0 MPS

My DSL is now 6.0 and not 3.0 [see earlier post]. I am starting to really notice the speed change. Counter Strike Source is now faster. My ping is now 31 to 35 for the IllSkillz server. Web pages load almost instantly now. I got an email saying that my install kit was on the way. I already have all my stuff from 3.0. Maybe its a mistake part of the email said N/A on it. Maybe N/A means they will not be sending me hardware [modem, install cd, etc] and thus charging me for it. I don't want to go to all the trouble of sending that equipment back.

16.7 HOURS.

This is the amount of overtime worked by yours truly. I get to relax now. Time to get to other things like cleaning my house, cataloging all my dvds, and sorting out the big stack of papers that should be in my filing cabinet. Tax time will be here shortly. I already have my file ready for my accountant. Tis the season to think about my refund in Febuary!

6.0 MPS DSL.

My service provider is now offering 6.0 meg DSL and I gladly accepted. I currently have 3.0 mps dsl. I started at 1.5 mps. 6 is a giant leap forward in speed so I'm glad I ordered the service. Best part is that it costs just $5 per month more than I pay now [yet I will get double the speed :)]. My install date is set for November 28th. Ahh the information age!

A THANKSGIVING IN RUINS.

Oh is it Thanksgiving? I hardly noticed. Work kept me so busy at the end to join stepmother for dinner. I'm tired so I did without. Don't feel sad, because I had homemade hamburgers and had wine. Yummy! I've had time to plan out 2006 in some detail and it promises to be my best year yet. So there is plenty to celebrate. It is going to be croweded Friday at my job. Lots of people. I am not looking forward to it. I will let all who read know how it all went. 11 Hours of overtime last week and at least 5 this week. Wow! I can't wait to get my paycheck. LOL. Gobble gobble gobble!!!

OH MY @$%&*# GOD!!!!

Warner Bros. has done it again! I just read on the Home Theater Forum that Warners is releaseing 2 disc Special Editions of All The President's Men [1976], Dog Day Afternoon [1975], and Network [1976]. They will [I hope] have docs and commentary tracks. Also a few other goodies for we film fans! I am counting the days untill these exellent films arrive.

The box of all three will street a week before they street seperatley. AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Me so happy.

I DID IT!!!

I had to pay a large bill this week. [I thought it would be next month]. I can still pay it with a little switching around of my funds. Alright my house payment will be a few days late! Are you satisfied that the cats out of the bag??!! To be honest I'm so releaved its like a giant weight thats been lifted off my shoulders. I can now go on to other things. A day that started as a failure turned out a wonderful victory for me. I can't celebrate right now though because I'm low on funds. LOL.

IN PRAISE OF ROBERT HARRIS.

I must sing the praises of robert harris. The film restoration expert that has [with Mr. Katz] been responsible for restoring quite a few Hollywood classics. Interview+pics and forum post. Enjoy!

HTF. Someone's comments on RH:
RAH, let me also extend a warm thanks for all that you do for HTF. Your patience with all of us when we argue, jump to conclusions, and lack-the-facts is exceptional and your continued participation here has really raised-the-bar in our discourse and helped to educate us all. And of course, your enthusiasm for beautifully restored classics always creates a wave of excitement for that next-great-release which is hard to beat.
ANOTHER GREAT INTERVIEW WITH RAH.

MIGHTY JOE YOUNG! WOW!!!

Mighty Joe Young screens and menus are up at DVD Beaver. Take a look at this beautiful set I'm going to get in January. "Was Beauty that killed the beast". MIGHTY JOE YOUNG.

NEW POSTING STYLE.

This is how I'm going to post from now on. Easier to read and edit. Thank you.

I'm just wild about jazz.

I love old Jazz. I found a site that has Real Audio files. Its free to listen and of course its all perffectly legal. I don't know if its because the copyrights have expired on these old recordings or not but they are up on the site to listen. Thats all I care about. I'm a big fan of people like Frankie Trumbuar, Bix Beiderbecke, and Lous Armstrong. I get a giddy feeling from those old scrachy recordings. So drink that bath tub gin from your hip flask, grab a flapper, and dance to the sweet sweet music! RED HOT JAZZ. Go to the bottom of the page to look for band and artists.

Thoughts on how lucky I am.

Thats right I'm doing good. Why because I'm healthy. Heck I'm even alive! Hahaha. Seriously though, someone told me that a fiend of his was killed when his car flipped over. The really sad part was that the victom was just 18 years old. No matter how money challanged or how stressed I get i'm alive and kicking. Thats what counts.

Hold dear those you love and charish
because they might be lost just as sudenly as that 18 year old kid still in the prime of life. Enjoy your life because one day you might not be around. Live each day to its fullest without regrets. Take time to [I know it sound lame but trust me on this one thing] smell the roses. Walk in the park, enjoy an ice cream cone, go where you want, and breath in the air of life before its all gone. Enjoy your life.

R.I.P. 18 year old kid. We hardly knew ye.

Long days and a bit of overtime.

My job has been keeping me really busy lately. Tough days and I'm busy right ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. I can handle it. I'm a big boy! LOL. I'm not as worked as I was in summer. That was brutal. I'm making my way the best I can.

My Home Theater Forum return.

I was banned from the Home Theater Forum in 2001 for a few comments I made. They have forgiven me and thats nice of them. How nice it is to be back. Since movies and DVD are two of my great passions in life being back on the HTF is great indeed. In January I plan on buying King Kong, the Life Of Emile Zola, The Broadway Melody, and maybe the Rules Of The Game on DVD. Thats when my money problems will be at an end. Lets hope thats the case!!!

A New page I found.

This is a new page I just found called Craigs List. It is a huge classified ad site that has people selling things and it has nice want ads. Take a look and see for yourself just how useful it is. Craigslist. I found out about is on late night news on CBS.

The Fair Tax Act. Is it possible?

If you go to the FairTax.org page you will see on the top left side a round button that will take you to the section of video clips dealing with the fair tax question. My only problem with it is that I don't think the "embedded" part of what a business pays will be given back to the public in a price reduction at the retail level. My $20 DVD purchase under the Fair Tax would be between $25 to $30 on that purchase.

Under the Fair tax act that would be a $20 DVD still. Thats because its said that the "embedded" costs due to IRS compliance etc would be taken away by bussinesses. Who is to say that the DVD makers/producers will lower the price of that DVD??? If I could get $25 instead of $20 they will do it and give plenty of excuses. like the "cost" of collecting that sales tax. They will use this Fair Tax as an excuse to take from the American public.

The Fair Tax Act has really no chance in being even passed because of the fear I talked about above. Congress needs the ability to raise revenue in case of an emergency. The CIA might not like the fact that the government would not have control of how much money is coming in. It would be out of the government's hands. Some do not like that and with very good reason. National Security could be a factor behind closed doors. Do you think?

Google has a new blog search engine.

Thats right. The team at Google are running on all cylinders lately. The new blog search can be tricky with odd results. Its still in beta so its being tweaked. Enjoy! GOOLE BLOG SEARCH.

A Better search engine for blogs is Technorrati. It has better result so far. Test both and see what your think.

In Memoriam: Robert Wise. Director of motion pictures. 1914 - 2005.

Robert Wise has died. He edited Citizen Kane [1941], won 4 Oscars, and was given the 1998 A.F.I. Life Achievment Award [the highest honor given for a carreer in film]. He was a master who made The Body Snatcher, Return Of the Cat People, Star Trek The Motion Picture, The Day The Earth Stood Still, The Huanting, The Sound Of Music, and West Side Story. He was also the editor of Orsen Welle's Magnificent Ambersons. Robert Wise has been called the "gentle giant" because he never yelled on the set and was allways easygoing. Wise served as president of both the Director's Guild Of America and the The Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. I find his filography a bit of a mixed bag, but Mr. Wise will be missed by all those that love film.

I'm back!

My pc is almost fixed and I'm ready for Fall. My car did not handle the heat over the Summer months. My car which I affectionatlly call the "green machine" is a 1993 Ford Taurus thats [you guessed it] green. I have handled my car with loving care since 1997 when we fisrt got it. 2 wrecks but she is still alive and kicking!

The Ford dealer said my overheating is a water pump, radiator, and the thermostat. They said [LOL] that it would cost $1,500 to fix!!! Hahahaha. The man said somthing to the effect of "it looks like it has been submerged in water". HUH?! WHAT?!! SAY THAT AGAIN?! I wanted to yell the following: Does my vehicle look like a midgit submarine at all?! Do I look like
Jacques f*cking Cousteau to you?! Don't touch the oxygen tank and scuba equipment in the trunk! I need them for long trips!!!!

This moron and others cost me half a day. Whatever they did has made my car run better. Thats allways good. I think maybe I had something caught in my cooling system. The Ford rep said somthing about leaves. Maybe they flushed out my system. Lets hope. I'm low on funds and not debt free yet. 2006 is looking very nice from the money perspective. I have $1,700 yet to pay the IRS. My $800 stock write off brings it down to just $800 and at $200 a month untill March I should have no trouble paying them the money.

That lousy rotten lame ass accountant is of course no longer my accountant. I now have one that can accually add, subtract, and my new accountant does not use her fingers to count like my old accountant probably does!!! Hahahaha. Rain Man he's not. Stupid little prick.

Tired all Sunday.

Today was tough at my job. I've made it home tired and glad its over.

SPECIAL NOTE: I DO NOT COMMENT ON MY JOB IN ANY DETAIL EVER. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SUED OR FIRED FOR POSTING ABOUT WORK STUFF AT VARIOUS BUSSINESSES. KEEP THAT IN MIND AS YOU OUT THERE BLOG. REMEMBER! HOME IS HOME AND JOB IS JOB!

Monday I do my banking and some stuff with a bill of mine on the phone. I also have to find out where the nearest dump is. My stepmom and I cleaned out her stuff from my garage. Now all my old boxes and junk have to go. :) So another long Monday awaits. Off now to play Counterstrike Source on Ill Skillz.

Staurday Night is allright for ......Buttermilk?!

Yes that right! I'm sitting here with a nice cold glass of buttermilk. Mmm. Its been a favorite of mine since childhood. Grandpa used to churn the stuff himself. :) I love milk after a hard night at my job.

I'm going to play Counter Strike Source tonight right after this on the Ill Skillz 24/7 Office server. I'm going to join the forums soon. Here is a link to Ill Skillz based on someones private server at Georgia Tech. Ill Skillz Forums. There is almost allways a wait to get on the server on a weekend night. 30 people max.

I need to cut my lawn sometime this week. I'll have to do Wedsday? Thursday?

Where Do I get My news?

Good question! I usually get my news from Google News. You can even custonize your news page so that you get only what you want to see.

2 great sites you might like!

The first is Slashdot. This page has stuff for the nerds & geeks out there. New For Nerd & Stuff That Matters.

The Second page is Drew Curtis's FARK.COM. It has news posted by people just like you. Some important news and even some wacky news that you might find a bit hard to believe. The link on the left on the Fark site [banner of the news site the news comes from] has the story itself. The link underneath # of comments has what people are posting about the said story. It has lots of other features. Both sites do. Enjoy! :)

Try Mozilla Firefox.

Mozilla Firefox is better than Enternet Explorer with its security problems. I trust Firefox and you should also. It works with Windows, Mac, and Linux. If you want to give this powerful browser a try click here: Firefox downloads. Some sites only seen to work with Inernet Explorer so keep IE even if you download Firefox. You might also try the Thunderbird Email client that seems to be safer than Microsoft's Outlook Express.

What is blogging?

Most people I have told about my blog have had a question for me that I found a bit shocking. "What is a blog"? I'm probably around the internet [or "internets" if your in the Bush administration] a bit more than some around me so therefore shall excuse the lack of knowlege of these otherwise smart people.

Tech changes so much that it is hard to keep up with whats new. For them I present the following link to tutor in the ways of modern cyberspace. :)

A link to the a defenition of blog: What is a blog?

A link to a database full of blogs to view: Site that has blogs.

Want to start your own blog? Try Blogger: Blogger.com.

Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging. :)

My one and only comment on Michael Jackson?

Alright. Now that the jury is deliberating the fate of the girl voiced 1 gloved wonder I shall now give my take on this pathetic show of a trial. If he is guilty he should get all the "fun" he can handle in prison [someone will soon have a new girlfriend? LOL]. If he is innocent his reputation [if he had much of one left before this mess] is surley ruined for all time I think.

Its sad with all of his fame and money what might have been if he had just watched his back a little better. Childlike innosense or pervert. Thats a difficult call to make. A jury of his peers are deciding his life now. A long long way from that little boy from Gary Indiana.

Battlefield 2 released June 23 in U.S.A.

Battlefield 2 is going to to be released on June 23 in the U.S. I just saw the high res trailer for this awsome fps game. The E3 show has given it "Best Pc Game Of The Show" and "Best Multiplayer Game Of The Show". Wow! Also it has officailly gone GOLD!!!

I going to get it as sceduled. I buy now only about 2 games per year and this is 1 of my 2 for 2005. I think my pc can handle it well enough. Yes this is truly fantastic news. The demo "might" be released on June 10th. Cross those fingers and toes! :)

The Geek Life Podcast.

There is a 13 year old in Canada that has a nice "podcast" or "audio blog". I found it at http://www.podcast.net/. It is called the Geek Life Podcast. He has friend of his on sometimes who is very radio friendly. They do have some technical problems but then don't we all when blogging to the world. :) Check them out. Also go to the link to find other podcasts that are to your liking. Podcasting rocks. Install or update to the latest Apple Quicktime software to listen.

My thoughts on Deep Throat.

As you all must know by now the shadowy figure who helped Woodward and Bernstien during Watergate has come forward. His name is Mark Felt. He was the #2 man at the FBI at the time.

My view is that Mr. Felt was and is an American patriot and a hero. Why? Because as an FBI agent he swore to uphold the "laws" and the "Constitution" of the United States. By helping to unravel the crimes of the Nixon Administration he upheld his oath of duty to us all. We should thank him for it!

Nixon and some of his men obstructed justice and broke not only the oaths of office they took but also laws of the country they were put in charge of. Period! There is no maybe about it. Its people like Mark Felt that make me feel that this country can endure anything. Even someone as parinoid and underhanded as Richard Nixon.

If only Hunter S. Thompson had lived just a little longer to see this. LOL He would have had MUCH to say!!! Pat Buchanan and others calling Felt wrong are just upset that Nixoian dirty deeds were discovered and punnished. Hahaha! Punks! The good guys win. I love it! God Bless the United Staes Of America and one good G-Man on the job for us 30 years ago. :)

Coments now work!

I changed my setting and you can now leave me comments. Sweet. :) click on comments to leave me a note.

I love rain!

I really love rain when its my day off. LOL I'm just sitting with shoes off listening to Groove Salad on ShoutCast.com You can type in Groove Salad in Google and a link to Soma FM is the first link. You will not be disapointed. I also suggest Secret Agent [Groovy Baby Yea!!!!] and Drone Zone. Space music to chill to.

I'm still trying to get comments to work but have not been able to get them to display. I'll try harder.

I'm back.

This is my first post since starting my blog. I was not sure I wanted to continue with it. I do want to blog. So much to say. There will be some about dvd, some post about me, and lots of links. Also I intend to post plenty of links from the vast reaches of cyberspace. I'm off from work on Wedsdays and Thursdays so that will be my time to really post.

I'm trying to get my life as simple and easy to handle as possible. I'm saving money yet I so so want Rebel Without A Cause and East Of Eden on dvd [2 disk editions]. Since I gave away my Rebel one to blockBuster for I think Austin Powers ["Oh behave!!!"] I might just get Rebel. I don't know what to do. I'll wait this one out.
